Hitting Coach |
| Bio: |
The 28-year old Joe’s Rhomberg’s begins his 8th season of professional baseball. Rhomberg enters his fifth season with the Colts and fourth as a player/coach for San Angelo. Joe became a coach at the ripe old age of 24. Rhomberg began his Colts career the same season Doc Edwards took over as manager, the inaugural year of the United League. He began as a utility man for the 2006 Colts team that went to the semi-finals before losing to the eventual champion Alexandria Aces.
Joe, in fact, has been with Doc since his first season in 2003, making it seven of his eight pro seasons with Edwards. Doc is well aquatinted with the Rhomberg family. Joe’s Dad Kevin played in the majors for the Indians, but while at Triple-A in the Tribe’s organization he played under you guessed it, Skipper Doc Edwards. As a coach Joe helped bring the 2009 Colts squad to within one victory of the ULB title. As a player Rhomberg is an excellent fielder and has played every position except for pitcher and catcher during his career. Better squat down and warm up Joe you never know when and where you may be needed. Say it ain’t so Joe!
