 February 8, 2010 - As we now know the favored Colts lost Super Bowl XLIV. The Saints rallied from a 10-0 first quarter deficit allowing just 7 points the rest of the way to win their first Super Bowl. Super Bowl MVP Drew Brees rallied his team to victory with a 32 for 39 performance, throwing for 288 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions.
With what New Orleans has been through over the years both as a population and a franchise, it was not just a victory for the team but for the entire city. When the Saints were really bad in the 70’s and early 80's fans were ashamed just to root for the team. So bad in fact that they started wearing bags over their heads like "The Unknown Comic" and nicknaming themselves the Aints. Oddly enough losing quarterback Peyton Manning's dad Archie was the quarterback for some of those years.
Colts fans where incorrect about this one in a very tight vote, but the voting was very similar to how the rest of the nation voted in national polls. Here are the results of your pre-Super Bowl voting:
