December 2, 2009 - Our poll question was where would you likes to see the Colts improve the most?
Here are the results on how you voted:
Pitching 55%
Defense 30%
Hitting 7.5%
Power 7.5%
Speed 0%
I guess it is no surprise that most fans voted for pitching and defense. That is what everyone preaches to win a championship, and the Colts were one win away from the ULB title last season. Pitching was the overwhelming favorite though, and Colts fans know manager Doc Edwards is always on the look out for good pitching. As they say you can never have too much pitching.
The two surprises were power, which the Colts lacked for one of the first time in their history. The other was speed which did not get a single vote. You can win without speed, but if you have a team with little power speed is a viable weapon. One speedster can change a game and wreak havoc on the opposing pitchers. Anyone remember Rickey Henderson, Lou Brock, Ty Cobb, Vince Coleman or even former Colts outfielder Tyrone Pendergrass?
We will switch gears for our next poll question; it is that time of the year to see who will be immortalized in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Check out the choice on this week’s poll.
